We're moving down the street

This isn't the end, but a new beginning.

We're moving down the street

Hey, I haven't heard from you guys in a while.

Indeed, it's been a busy month behind the scenes with many things happening and lots of news to share – both good and bad. Which would you like first?

Alright, rip the band-aid off then. What's the bad news?

The bad news is that the Ark & Sons experiment is coming to an end. We'd like to thank you for your readership and involvement in this journey, and we truly hope you've enjoyed the content we've produced so far.

Oof. What's the good news then?

The good news is that I said "so far". Rather than an end, this is a new beginning.

While Noah will be taking a backseat to focus on his work as a psychologist, Patrick is going to be carrying the torch solo for this great, rule-breaking automotive content over at Essential Drives.

Essential Drives
Car content done differently.

It's a new name, but the same great style of content continued. Indeed, clicking on most articles on the Ark & Sons homepage will redirect you to the same content on the new site.

You'll even still see Noah from time to time, and perhaps even a few other familiar names from the DriveTribe days in the future as well.

Amazing! What do I need to do now?

  • If you signed up to Ark & Sons after launch – most of you came through Patrick's social channels, and you've already been copied over because, given you signed up originally, this is presumably the type of content you want to see.
  • The sign-in process is the same, so just use your email address and a link will be sent to you. Be sure to check your junk/spam folder and mark Essential Drives as a safe sender.
  • If you were a Defining Drives subscriberyou can choose to subscribe to Essential Drives at this link if you want to continue reading this content.

Since this is a new site but the same content is copied over there, is there also some new content I should be aware of?

You bet. There are three new articles already over there, and more posts to come every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Note: Emails will only go out on Mondays.

Chasing the aurora in the BMW-rivalling Mazda CX-60
If you’re wanting to catch a glimpse of the southern lights, it turns out you’ll need enough power at your right foot’s disposal to race against Mother Nature.
From the lab: 2024 Triumph Stag
James May has made the Stag popular again after the last Grand Tour special, but what if this iconic sports car was given a proper revival 50 years on?
Elon Musk can try as he might, but nothing will make me trust driverless cars
Having first experienced what it’s like to ride in a fully autonomous vehicle back in 2017, an experience which left a bitter taste in my mouth, even Elon can’t convince me this is the way.

Nice one. Well, so long then. See you over on the new site?

Thank you once again for your support. We look forward to seeing you there.
